Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Hercules.
If I lease the laundry equipment from Hercules, what happens on the day following the installation?+
Prior to the completion of the new laundry room installation, Hercules notifies thenmanagement company and building superintendent of an agreed date (usually no morenthan one to two days after the installation) to conduct a “Laundry Room Open House.” ThisnOpen House allows the residents of your building to meet representatives from Herculesnand have any of their questions addressed. It also allows our representatives tondemonstrate the use of the new washers, dryers and revaluing equipment, as well as thenmost efficient ways to do laundry.
Do I have a choice of wall paint colors or type of flooring?+
After the signed contract is returned to Hercules, the installation team at Hercules beginsnthe scheduling of the new laundry room installation, which includes mailing paint and tilensamples (if applicable based on the terms of the contract) for review by the ManagementnCompany or the Board of Directors. Once the selection process is completed and sharednwith Hercules, we select the required painters and flooring company to complete the job.
What is included in the survey of the existing laundry room?+
The laundry room survey includes an assessment of the laundry room’s floor, walls, existingnventing, plumbing and electric, and overall space for the installation of new machines.nMeasurements are also taken for all wall space and flooring. The representative will assessnthe existing gas lines, drains, and the location of the laundry room (basement, lobby-level,nfloor by floor) - and if anything needs to be planned for at the time of the installation (steps, ndoorways, overhead pipes).
After I request a sales proposal from Hercules, when can I expect to receive it?+
You can request a proposal online or by calling the Hercules office. The proposal request isnassigned to a Hercules Account Representative, who surveys the laundry room within thennext two to three business days. We then prepare and mail a formal written sales proposal, nwhich may be delivered and explained by the Hercules Account Representative, if younprefer.
What if I am creating a new laundry room (e.g., in a basement closet or basement storage room)?+
If Hercules is asked to provide laundry services for a building with no existing laundry room, nit is the responsibility of the building’s management company or Board of Directors tonprovide the required plumbing, electricity, and gas. Your Hercules Account Representativencan assist with this process and provide the names of plumbers, electricians, and othernrequired contractors. Depending on the size of the room and the complexity of the overallnrenovation, you may need to work with an architectural firm and have them file the propernplans and required forms to complete the renovation.
How long does a typical installation take?+
After we receive the signed contract, a new installation will usually take no more than 60ndays. This includes the time for Hercules to coordinate the removal of the existing laundrynroom provider’s equipment. If the room is empty, the 60-day installation period can bensignificantly reduced. The “typical installation” assumes that all required electric, ventingnand plumbing is already in place.
What about using "remanufactured" rather than brand new?+
While the selection of brand new equipment might be appealing, it's not always costneffective. Hercules’ remanufactured equipment is rebuilt from the ground up to completelynrestore it to its original factory condition and performance. This gives the best of bothnworlds: machines that look and run factory fresh at a significant savings. For moreninformation please contact us.

Don't assume, however, that increasing the vend rates will automaticallyntranslate into an increase in laundry room income. Usually as the vend rates increase, demandnfalls.
